Our seventh release had to be a 7”. It just had to. I had my mind set on doing Motherfucking Ants as a Part 1 and Part 2 as a nod to a lot of old funk and soul releases. I’d had the idea for this remix using these particular samples from Boyz ‘N the Hood ever since BMR 3 came out. This includes the acid. Hidden really wanted to be in on doing a 7”, too, but I got very stubborn about doing this thing how I had envisioned it for all these years. We agreed that he would do Genosha 8 all by himself since he’s an unstoppable production machine. There is a lot more to say about this release because so many things went wrong in the production process. I wrote something about it on the internet. It is mostly in Dutch. If you can’t read Dutch you’re in trouble.

TOA: Een 7". Lijkt ons koel voor nummer 7.
CMBV: Leuk. We moeten hem volgende week hebben.
TOA: Uhhh... Is nog niet klaar.
CMBV: Dan doe je de album sampler toch als 7?
TOA: Nee, het moet een zeven inch zijn. Numerlogie. Vet. We doen die sampler wel als 6.5.
CMBV: 6.5?! Dat zal Mid-Town leuk vinden.
TOA: Wij zijn origineel.
CMBV: Ja, nou... origineel, hoor. Wat komt er op 7 dan?
TOA: Een zeer moeilijk vervolg op Fucking Ants in twee delen.
CMBV: Gaaf is dat. Track al moeilijk en dan ook nog eens in twee delen. Verkoopt makkelijk, zoiets.
TOA: Mooi, he? Oh ja, er moeten ook 6 locked grooves op de plaat.
CMBV: Nou, nou. We gaan kijken of Record Inductry dat aandurft.
RI: Flikker op; daar beginnen we niet aan. We kunnen dat niet.
CMBV: Kannie.
TOA: Kut. Nou ja, dan snijden we hem wel in Amerika. Daar kunnen ze dat wel.
CMBV: Ho eens effe! Een 7" is al duurder om te maken en dan wil je hem ook nog eens in het buitenland laten snijden? 90 euro verzendkosten naar Record Industry voor het persen enzo?
TOA: Ja.
CD: We'll do it. It'll be a little bit extra for the locks and shipping's going to be fairly high, but I like this track and I'd love to cut it. Locks will not be a problem.
TOA: Cool. We'll send the money straight away.
CMBV: En? Kost dat?
TOA: Nouuu... Met verzenden iets duurder dan RI.
CMBV: Klote. Nou ja... Als het maar goedkomt.
RI: He, zeg effe tegen die gasten dat het wel op veertien inch lacquers gesneden moet worden. Anders kunnen wij er niks mee.
CMBV: Het moet op 14" lacquers.
TOA: The plant only takes 14" lacquers.
CD: Jesus. Why? That's stupid. Those are way more expensive. It'll now cost a lot more.
TOA: Het gaat meer kosten.
CMBV: Lekker. Moeilijke plaat, duur om te maken en 7 inch en die verkopen sowieso al minder. Gaat lekker hier. Wil je er ook nog geld aan overhouden?
TOA: Ha. Ja, miljoenen. Ik zie de reacties op het internet al op een limited Genosha. Hebben we het gelijk weer gevreten.
CD: I cut it. It sounds awesome.
TOA: Cool. Send it over.
CD: That will cost even more.
TOA: When will it fucking end? Shit, well... One of us will be in the US in two weeks. Send the master there and we'll transport it back by hand.
CD: No problem.
TOA: Kijk, daar istie dan.
RI: Mooi.
CMBV: Hij staat op Sector-1, hoor
This story essentially means that you should not complain in any way shape or form about this release. Ever. To top it all off our artwork got messed up at the pressing plant and the locked grooves were cut at the wrong speed. Patrick actually told me to sit down when he called me to tell me this.
