Cardiac suggested that we put out a CD. Or maybe we wanted this ourselves. I am drawing a total blank on this. Anyway… There was to be a CD. Cardiac should have known that we would not be content with simply stuffing two CDs full with existing tracks. (Meaning we delayed the hell out of this CD several times.)

We set a strict rule when we started Genosha that the end-bits we used would be exclusive to our vinyl releases, but we also really wanted to include similar bits on the CD. (We are really good at setting dumb rules that only we care to observe.) We decided to go with a format that is not unlike trying to find a radio station or TV channel. This way we could include tons of bits. I think I eventually ended up cutting together more than 300 samples for the transitional bits (as they shall henceforth be called). Hidden was responsible for all the re-EQing on the tracks. We both spent weeks on this project. We also included new, unreleased material on the discs because we both feel that is a very important and stand-up thing to do.

This CD was so much work that we pretty much cursed ourselves because Scenocide 202 has to follow the same format. I’ve been collecting transitional bits non-stop for the past year. We’ll move on to a different format after 202 simply because it’s seriously a retarded amount of work.

Oh yeah, Scenocide stands for something very deep, of course. Figure it out.
